Friday
Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10:08AM Liam doesn't know that Friday is a day of the week. To him, Friday is a dog.
"Friday, dog, ooof!" he says.
"Hi Friday!" "Bye Friday!"
Or very sternly... "Down Friday..."
It turns out that I respond to tiny little puppies rather similarly to how I respond to tiny little babies - with exclamations and a camera! And just as with tiny little babies, I couldn't believe how adorably SLEEPY this little puppy was. She just curled up in a corner on the sofa and snoozed away, only occasionally stirring to shift positions or survey her surroundings briefly before going back to sleep.
And I couldn't stop taking photos.
Just like babies, puppies grow up fast too. Even a few weeks later, she was a a completely different dog, a LOT more rambunctious! But also a loving pal for my niece, who had been asking for a dog for months (or maybe years?) How happy was she when her dream came true?!
Now Friday is almost a year old, and she's huge and boistorous. She recently chewed off the corner of my sister-in-law's coffee table. Oh and also a piece of the wall. And the sofa.
But she's starting to calm down and Liam can even feed her a "doggie cracker" as he calls them. She's a good dog. And I love that I got to photograph her when she was just a few weeks old.
