Magic at the playground: DUMBO family photo session

Two year olds are in charge, there's no doubt about it. One of the things that's important to me with toddlers is following their lead. No sense stressing everyone out by trying to unnecessarily force something on a toddler that has other ideas.

(This applies in life as in photo sessions by the way!)

So it was that Ryan, quite understandably, was not really interested in hanging around the Main Street Park in DUMBO with a beautiful Manhattan skyline as his backdrop - he wanted to run around the playground! And who could blame him?

When kids are happy, magic happens. It wasn't the session I had planned, but I wouldn't miss the fun I had chasing Ryan around, or the expressions I captured, for the world.

Ryan is one adorable kid who knows what he wants. Thanks to Bonnie and Adrian for going with the flow!
