The High Line is one of my favorite urban parks in the city. Making use of the old elevated train tracks, it is truly unique - a great place to hang out with your family and a great place to have a family photo session!
A few weeks ago, on what turned out to be one of the warmer days at the time, I photographed not one but four families at the High Line to test out an idea for a new quick and easy photo session experience... but more on that later.
First I am excited to share the first of that day's photo sessions with Tom, Johanna (baby girl due in May) and Liam, soon to turn two.
How could I not love a boy named Liam?! Just a few months younger than my Liam, we had great fun running around and exploring.
Johanna, almost 8 months pregnant at the time, looked fantastic, even though I know in those last few months you don't necessarily feel as good as you look... and with an active toddler around to boot, I can only imagine how tired she must be. Hang in there Johanna, not long to go, and you do look amazing!
I love this photo - it captures the essence of how fun motherhood can be.
And here she is with that gorgeous bump.
You can see the full slideshow here.
If you're a friend of Tom, Johanna and Liam, please leave a comment below wishing them well with their upcoming addition to the family! You'll also help them win a complimentary 8x10 print if they get 25 comments, a mounted 11x14 print if they get 50 comments and a beautiful 10x10 canvas gallery wrap if they get 75 comments, all by April 18th, 2011! And don't forget to sign up for your be inspired mini artwork tasting experience to get a sampling of my artwork products for yourself...
If you're interested in a High Line photo session for your own family - signups for the next quick and easy photo session event are now open! Quick and easy photo sessions are a great precursor, addition or alternative to the full wall gallery experience. Less customized than the wall gallery experience, the date and location are predetermined and I photograph several families in one day for 30 minute photo sessions. You still get a planning session and ordering session over the phone and you still get the same beautiful images (just not as many of them).
Want to get some quick and easy family portraits? Check it out! (And quick, there are only five spots available.)
